The new Stadium of Volgograd, replacing the old Rotor Stadium, was one of the venues hosting the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. The initial design was developed by GMP architects and SBP engineers, and studies for approval by engineering practice MAXIMUM. Our services were part of the contract for the central cable roof with a consortium of Konar (Chelyabinsk) and FIC. It included the execution studies for the nodes, hinges, and cable connection details, later the Biglift studies, including a detailed sequence of the hydraulic lifting, and finally, the supervision and assistance during the operation on site.
