Volksbank Mittlerer Neckar eG has a new building complex on Bahnhofstraße in Wendlingen am Neckar. The architectural design features an ensemble of three staggered buildings that are slightly recessed from one another while maintaining a cohesive appearance. The two smaller structures house training and conference rooms, providing space for 240 employees. The taller building primarily serves the Wendlingen police. This new complex places a strong emphasis on energy and resource conservation.
Recycled concrete was also considered as part of the tendering process to ensure the new building was as energy and resource-efficient as possible. Reinforced concrete components were designed to accommodate the use of recycled concrete in as many components as possible. The project is seeking DGNB certification with a silver or gold standard.
