The site for the apartment building PH35 is directly located on the hill between Neustift am Walde in the north and Pötzleinsdorf in the south of Vienna. The architecture of the building responds with a number of clear references to this special location at the point of transition from urban space to the open landscape. The elegant design follows the principles of modernism. The continuous balconies create a flowing connection between the living rooms in the interior and the private outdoor spaces in front of them.
The new construction for the five apartment blocks in reinforced concrete construction consists of a basement floor including a garage, a ground floor and 3 upper floors with balconies or terraces. The surface loads of all the roof and floor slabs are dissipated via the reinforced concrete slabs towards the reinforced concrete wall panels and supports. The resulting horizontal forces are dissipated into the foundations by means of wall panels and the reinforced concrete cores.
