As part of the redesign of Ulm's main station, the square in front of the station was given a new canopy (770 m²) and two new bus stop roofings (2 × 250 m²). The roof structures consist of round columns with filigree, geometrically folded stainless steel roof surfaces at the top and bottom, and an internal steel framework.

LED lights are integrated flush with the roof surface to illuminate the traffic areas. Drainage is provided by invisible gutters running around the structure and through the supports to the sewerage system. The bus stop roofs were completely prefabricated close to the construction site to reduce installation time.
