A multifunctional arena was designed as a part of a competition. This arena can accommodate up to 12,000 spectators and can host different events like concerts, sports games, and other events.
The building has an oval floor plan and appears to lift off the ground on one side, which provides an open entrance to the foyer. The event hall is covered by radially arranged lattice girders. The solid construction of the grandstands and the adjoining rooms provides support for the roof structure.
The building's translucent facade is designed as a spatial framework and it is also the primary supporting structure that spans the entrance area. The self-supporting structure above the entrance area is stabilized by a kink in the facade, which also ensures the roof's disc load-bearing effect.
