The building was originally a boat repair shed in the Ile de Nantes industrial estate. The building had a steel structure in a single volume with a dry dock with no landing. In 2006, the bar association took over the building and moved its offices there in 2009, at the same time as restructuring. Forma6's project involved preserving the existing metal structure, adding floors to create five storeys, and fitting out the vertical and horizontal circulation systems. From 2011 onwards, damage to the façade began to appear. Initially, the damage was caused by a storm, but as time went on, the owners noticed various problems with the waterproofing of the façade.
The façade, initially designed by Forma 6, has a homogenous appearance in all directions. It mainly consists of a glazed joinery, a curtain wall, aluminium frames, and polycarbonate panels used as cladding or in a thin double-skin complex. Once the cause of the damage has been identified, the mission is to diagnose and carry out an identical renovation of the polycarbonate cladding.
