The pedestrian bridge connects two parts of the Plötzensee prison and crosses the Friedrich-Olbricht-Damm road. The bridge is made of an arched, slightly elevated, filigree steel truss construction supported by several rows of supports. The unique feature of this design is the movable center section. To accommodate special transports and increase clearance height, an approximately 8-meter-long span can be raised. Instead of lifting an entire bridge segment, only the floor is raised to the roof, with the facade folding outwards. The foundation was laid on an elastically bedded floor slab.
