At the beginning of the 20th century, the Frankfurt Town Hall was rebuilt and given a Gothic-style tower. The ‘Lange Franz’, named after Mayor Franz Adickes (1890-1912), was destroyed during the Second World War and replaced by an emergency roof. Thanks to a fundraising campaign, the ‘Lange Franz’ will be restored to its original 1908 state.
In this context, we have been entrusted with the structural engineering supervision of the reconstruction of the multi-storey spire and the top floor of the tower.
The newly planned reconstruction of the spire will be erected on an existing approx. 45-metre-high tower. The construction project includes an approx. 3-metre-high tower storey with four bay towers and an approx. 20-metre-high spire. The main roof consists of a hipped roof. A dormer with a gabled roof and a bay tower with a tent roof are attached on each of the two sides.
