A new urban quarter is being built between Frankenallee and Mainzer Landstrasse in Frankfurt. Two new buildings will be erected on the site of the former headquarters of the ‘Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung’. ‘FAZ Nord’ will be an eight-storey residential building with a day-care centre on the ground floor. The 16-storey ‘FAZ Süd’ tower will be built using a hybrid timber construction method. The upper floors will house apartments, while the basement will be used for offices. The buildings are structurally separated from each other and stand on a shared two-storey underground car park.
