Grønlikaia is located east of Sørenga in Oslo and is the industrial area between Ekebergskrenten and the Oslofjord. The project is a candidate project for FutureBuilt and more than 42,000 square metres of public urban space and a harbour promenade, as well as 1,500 homes and 3,000 workspaces will be established here. The planning area is divided into five sub-areas developed in dialogue with five Scandinavian architectural teams, where each area has different qualities and identities.
Verket, the sub-area closest to Bjørvika and the city centre that will become an urban meeting place with a mix of restaurants, cafés, offices, and housing, has been designed by the architectural firm A-lab. The outdoor area and harbour promenade around Verket are designed as a learning landscape that actively cleans water and strengthens biodiversity above and below the water, and which can be experienced and understood by the area's users.
In collaboration with A-lab, Bollinger+Grohmann has, among other things, developed concepts for load-bearing and slab systems, and carried out LCA calculations.
