Bollinger+Grohmann has assisted with structural engineering regarding the construction of an extension to expand a catalogue house by the fjord in Larvik. The two-storey extension contains a living room on the ground floor and an office and a balcony on the first floor.
The structure consists of CLT slabs and load-bearing glulam beams and columns. The parapet beam in the deck above the ground floor is suspended from the ceiling to create a column-free ground floor.
The project received an honourable mention under the Arnstein Arneberg Award 2019, which is awarded by the Østfold Architects' Association to a building or facility that stands out as an example of outstanding architecture.
