‘Carte’ has been completed in June 2023 in the new Belvédère district of Bordeaux, France.
The installation comprises 14 cast aluminium trees with a moulded texture resembling real Landes pine trees, giving the piece a realistic appearance. The trees support a 40 mm thick aluminium canopy with cut-outs made with a water jet cutting technique, accurately portraying the ‘Port of the Moon city plan.
We supported the teams of Leandro Erlich Studio for Fonds Cré'Atlantique in structural engineering, parametric optimisation of the structures, and the necessary realisation of the canopy plan.
