The three-storey office building at the entrance of the estate of the Braun AG in Kronberg provides workplaces for approx. 500 people with a total floor area of 8.500 m². One of the design specifications was to enable the decision on final floor layouts as late as possible.
Wide-span ceilings provide column-free floor plans. Open plan and individual offices can be varied suiting the user‘s requirements. The concrete ceilings perform as heat storage. The roof of the central exhibition and event hall can be opened during the summer months. The adjustable pneumatic cushions of the roof structure can be spread similar to bird feathers, converting the hall into an outdoor space.
