The project ‘1938+2023’ is located at Berg in Oslo and includes both rehabilitation and the development of a modernist timber house from 1938. The owners of the house wanted more space and more suitable rooms with the opportunity to work creatively from home. A modern extension was built, and an annex was constructed in the garden. The annex contains a garage, living space, and a dance studio to fulfil the client's wishes.
B+G carried out structural engineering, including documentation for concrete and timber structures.
The project received the Oslo Architects' Association's Architecture Prize in 2023 and was also nominated for the Oslo City Architecture Prize the same year.
