Opening
We are honoured to have participated in the recent inauguration of the new seminar building at the ‘Haus Der Wannsee-Konferenz’ memorial in Berlin. Designed by Staab Architekten, the new event building extends the memorial's educational mission and provides modern facilities for seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Our team was responsible for the structural engineering and building physics. The key design element of the lightweight concrete building is the curved roof of the foyer. The realisation of the simple form proved to be a challenge in terms of concrete technology and building physics. As a result, the clear structure blends seamlessly into the historical site and creates a balance between contemporary architecture and the profound and sensitive history of the location.
