Article: the transformation of department store UP!
In his article, Christoph Gengnagel (B+G) writes about transforming the former East Berlin department store UP! into a modern office building. His observation focuses on comprehensive preliminary investigations such as design analyses, the recording of geometries suitable for deformation, and thorough material investigations. A new topic of design-accompanying life cycle assessment in the early project phases is also essential in this pioneering example of resource-saving construction in existing buildings.
